Today’s New York Times Style Section features an article and accompanying photoshoot addressing an emerging trend of Victorian revivalism. The renewed interest in Late 19th Century accoutrements and, to a lesser extent, themes in art, film, interior design and recreation, is largely based on a refined yet masculine aesthetic. While tweed rules the day as the material of choice, the classic look also includes several distinctive silhouettes, from the henley to the peacoat, and a few flashy details, such as lapels and oversize buttons.

The Times goes the extra mile with a period-piece photoshoot, shot with a tintype camera as per the technology of the day.

Is this an “emerging trend”? Really? It reminds me a little of the very first Sean John runway show so I guess, as usual, Diddy was ahead of his time.
