“Fashion” (she) is female, but skirt (he) is male. Anyway, a kind of fashion makes it more suitable, also skirts on men.
Skirts for men is an idea which goes around since 120 years (see New York Times 1889), and there is nothing wrong with this idea which is nothing else than retro – style. Men were dressed in skirts and dresses for over 9000 years, and their skirts and dresses were always shorter than women’s.
Whatever some people want to write as “comment”, they can’t change the history.
And as strikemaster says: “it’s for health, comfort and human rights!” with my add: and enjoyment – by the way: Men looking better in skirts and kilts than in pants ….-hm….. is that fashion?

Researchers say that men have started to wear skirted garment about 75000 years ago. It’s much longer than You said, but not matters in fact. Skirts are male’s garment taken by women. Original Ancient women’s clothes were trousers, so if women have restored pants as a women’s garment too, men should do the same with skirts.
Reasons:
1. Health. Male’s sexual organs are located outside the body. It’s not for art but have some serius reasons. Male reproductive cells must be kept in temperature 2 to 4 degrees lower than main body core, otherwise risk of infertility and some other diseases increases. Trousers unlike skirt cover fully the testicles and force to the warm body, so can cause overheating even during freezy winter. So I might say skirt prevents against male’s diseases (not only against infertility, but also against other testicular and prostate diseases).
2. Comfort. To high temperature isn’t comfortable, also trousers presses our sensitive parts, causes abrasions. Skirts aren’t.
3. Human rights. Don’t forget men are humans too. We should have right to wear our historical clothes especially that women have these already. We must have a choice and ability to adjust our clothes to weather conditions for example.

Strikemaster, yes, you are right with 75000 years because pants were unknown. But I want to make it easier for people which have heard first time that men can wear skirts because it is their garment from nature and throughout history
It doesn’t matter how long men wore skirts in past because it is for sure that skirts are only a male garment originally. So, back into the future, men must go with this idea, and it should not matter what women might say about. Men usually do not criticize women’s garment at all, so why should women do it on men’s wardrobe. They just don’t have the right.
Actually you are right, Herby but let me just say that men can look very good in skirts. I think it is the minimum to go to approach to support men going skirted, means put in their wardrobe.
It would be very helpful for us women, too. Think about that.
I love my skirts and I am wearing it daily. Since I am doing so women call me brave and manly……. Never I heard that before. How come? Does skirts make me more attractive than pants?
