Sean John Fall 2010: The Rivalry (Preview)

L1090610

We just set up our showroom for market week.  The design direction for Sean John Fall 2010 is themed “The Rivalry.” This story begins much the same as all great conflicts throughout history.  Two opposing forces that wage war for glory and respect on and off the “field”of battle.  The privileged, the proper, the pure breed.

The Blue Bloods collection is available now…click here

BLUE BLOODS

L1090624

The Blue Bloods are the epitome of refinement and upper classicism. Trained and molded to become the “elite.” Their focus lies on the purity of victory. This unwavering mindset creates an attitude of superiority that is admired by many, but hated by those that were not entitled.  Those that are unprivileged, the underdogs, the unforgiven.

THE CRIMSONS

L1090625

The Crimsons are the antithesis of what the Blue Bloods portray.  They stand for utilitarianism and purpose while adding their own unique touch.  The everlasting feud continues as battles are won and lost.  Friends and foes become the fallen…until one day a handful of members grow a disdain for both sides and unite and give birth to what they call themselves Team Noir.

TEAM NOIR

L1090610

Team Noir takes both styles to their extremes and fuses the two sensibilities of clean and rough to create an ultimate style of dark chic, refined ruggedness and neo-classicism.  This new and mysterious force makes them the new threat to The Crimsons and the Blue Blood and become the envy of all.

I sense as always this will be a very successful collection. The color choice is appealing and unexpected for for the average urban people but in a oxymoronic type of way maintains and up holds a thug elegance if you will.

Hmmm need to see more peices up close and i would like to see if there is anything on the backs of these peices.Cream and blue coat is hard feelin the team noir but, just barely i am not seeing any garvey fit.Logos are a bit to large and looks like its season behind already everyones ditching the cardigan look already.

There are a a few nice jean washes i would wear, can’t stand shawl collar sweater. Overall D- there was room to do something other than royal blue so tired of that color attracts to much attention.I HAVE HIGH HOPES FOR THAT CREAM SJ COAT.

    Fred,

I can tell that you must have waked and baked before you looked at the collection!!! These clothes look HOT…I only see 2 cardigands and no logos. I see team varsity letters which seem appropriate for this group. Polo does this all the time.

My fav pieve is the grey crew neck with the zipper in The Crimson group!

SJ has been my absolute favorite brand for years and it’s mostly all I wear, but their items from previous Fall seasons are ahead of this 2010 line in terms of unique pattern and detail. SJ is really beginning to look like South Pole and other names. I used to always be able to pick SJ off a rack amongst other labels and I can’t do it anymore. I looked at all of the newer items at a mall last weekend and thought, ‘THIS is Sean John?!’ Thankfully though, they’re bringing small and medium sizes back in. They were hard to find for a while, both in-store and online.

Fall 2010 collections are nice. Very nice. I liked how your team put all three concepts together and made it as if it was base off a true movie. It shows that your design team has a great sense of imagination. And anyone should see it through this 2010 Fall collection. I am very inspired.

Keep up the good work. We wonder how the Fall 2011 concepts will be!

Love the color story- combining red & blue to get the purple of “Team Noir” -my favorite. Good to see that SJ can balance trendy urban wear with serious “grown-folk” style. Great collection, ya’ll.
