Sean John 2010 Holiday Preview: “Mountain High”

This Holiday Season we find ourselves at the base of “The Mountain” where we prepare to embark on a treacherous expedition.  A 3-stage journey that begins with “The Climb”, “The Lodge” and “The Descent.” Extreme cold, dangerous terrain, paralyzing winds are a few of the risks we face.  But as always, we face any and all obstacles prepared and in style.

Check out the 3-stage journey of our 2010 Holiday collection, The Climb, The Lodge and The Descent, after the jump

THE CLIMB
“THE CLIMB” sees us outfitted with heavy hardware, webbing and binding over seams as reinforcement/protection from the elements.  Technical augmentation of well traveled and broken-in surplus pieces.  It displays a clear hybrid of the pure tech with well worn.  Key silhouettes and details are inspired from both technical and military outerwear.
.
.
THE LODGE
Overstepping crevasses, evading falling rocks, our gear has proven it’s worth again and now “THE LODGE” is upon us.  Here is where we celebrate the success of the climb.  Separating us from the rest, we adorn ourselves in plush sweaters, quilted pieces that exude both style and purpose.  Leather is also utilized as a decadent touch to catch that staring eye from across the room.
.
.
THE DESCENT
Coming down from the “HIGH” of the mountain top, we now begin “THE DESCENT.”  The mountain has been bested and the path down is one that rewards us with smooth terrain and warmer winds.  We take this moment to shed layers and expose our more tranquil side.  A side that sees us in slick nylon vests, icy plaid shirts and well traveled jeans.  Crisp and cool, just like how the journey began.

Hmm… looking better for the holiday season better than the fall season. Been there done that with the plaid but,the lodge is working for me i see quite a few pieces i want. Now let’s see what SJ releases for tall people. Hopefully this release will not be tailored fit, it’s a bad cut for tall people. Original fit ,custom fit, or classic fit for tall people no more tailored fit. Start selling the entire release for tall people not just four outfits and a jacket. Make a tall persons tie while your at it ,all SJ sells are regular length. Love the jeans but i will not purchase if they are not Garvey fit. Hope the quality has improved with this holiday batch i noticed the word reinforced was present. I however did not read anything about two ply preshrunken cotton shirts or sail cloth button ups. Where are all the wool coats from last year kinda liked those.

Hey Mr. Combs I don’t know if you’ll ever really read these but here it goes anyways i was looking at your collection and it seems okay but you do have a few hits and a couple misses on this one. I’m stickin’ wit you though I’m a big supporter but keep it cool and sexy money. Not like the tie dye V- neck

I have to agree with the gentleman above please take out the tailored fit. Its not just wrong for tall people but, thick folks too. Tailored fit terrible. However, I’m a true fan of Sean John and this fall line seems to be ok. Simple but ok. Would like to see those fab coats. Also more color jazz it up!!! Keep bringing the heat. Also Sean John is one of the flyest lines out keep it up, don’t loose it.

With our “Tailored” fit you have to go up one size. For those who are looking for a more clean/refined look, you’ll find that the cut is more flattering to your shape!

The key to getting fly is knowing what “fit” works for your shape and personal style (“Tailored” vs “Original”)!

Thanks for your feedback and support! We are committed to making you look your best!

Stay tuned for some blog updates that will walk you though some of our new denim fits!!

I love the sweaters and detailing. During the winter, sweaters are my best hit. Along with wovens. The themes Sean John put together for the hoilday speak for itself. The vests has a more sincere look. They help bring the sweaters out more. That’s awesome! Although I am skinny, I still think your customers are right, plus size people love to look fly too.

But so far, everything looks perfect. Hard work pays off.

    Keep it up!

I love your clothing. I just wonder will you think about expanding your designs to the O-L-D-E-R Brother. My husband is in his late 50′s but still loves to dress and look good. He has a few designs but would very much like to expand his collection of your clothing. But being age appropriate is important to him and me. Style, Taste, and Appropriateness is his image.

Please think about the O-L-D-E-R Brother as you develop your next line.

I am loving the lodge collection first and then the descent collection. Bue and gray are always a great match. I am definitely a Sean John shopper to the max. Mr. Combs if you are listening please bring a Sean John store to Chicago. I always have to the NYC store to get the latest and greatest fashion.

I completely love this collection. I’m especially crazy about the smoke grey double breasted jacket! Sean John is the best urban brand out! I love the fact that i see Diddy wearing some of the same shirts I have in my closet

I completely love this collection! Im crazy about that smoke grey double breasted jacket! Sean John is the best urban brand out in my opinion! I love the fact that i see Diddy wearing some of the same pieces i have in my closet! That really shows that he believes in his product! I also love the fact that the big and tall line is just as involved and interesting as the others! Most designers dont take the time to put out good big and tall fashions, but to me, Sean John is the leader in this genre! I would love to offer some of my ideas regarding the fit of some of the clothing. If i could make one request, it would be that the shirts be a little longer, when your stomach is big it naturally causes your shirts to rise, so us big guys need a little more in that area! Overall i love Sean John and someday dream of working for the brand!

I am seriously feeling “The Lodge.” Very nice pieces. Particularly the black/white/gray cardigan and the grey peacoat like jacket. They will definitely soon be mine. For the other collections I am not too interested in at all. I kind of expected more from my favorite label. I’m sure Sean John won’t disappoint with the rest of the collection.

    The Climb:
Is a great introduction to the collection. The mixing of color and fabrics bring a great balance. The cold orange brightens up winter. While the rusted browns bring familiarity to the season. Even though its winter the fabrics are not bulky or uncomfortable. The modern use of the digitized faire isle print was refreshing. It was simple yet masculine. I can see the “Climb” of a young man’s journey into manhood. The collection is young alive but in transition.
    The Lodge:
The Lodge is dark grown but again, not heavy. The Lodge is more formal ready for the nightlife.

The Descent: Is for the city explorer. Layered looks that are customizable to the weekends events for the professional. The muted blues and grays are not dulled out by crisp creams and whites. Creating a successful balance that can easily be interchangeable with the other two parts of the collection.

diggin some of ur stuff. but wouldnt hurt to go back to the signature series. all me and my son wear. 98% of everything in closet is sj. step it up a notch or two. live in atlanta. too many fags here, gotta step it up anotch or two dont want to through the wrong signal. make it masculine again.
