Ferrari has collaborated with Chinese artist Lu Hao to create a one-off 599 GTB Fiorano. The 599, a very special car in its own right, has been given a very special exterior finish in addition to a few other unique tweaks. Drawing inspiration from Ge Kiln porcelain of the Song dynasty, Hao has given the Ferrari a similar “cracked glaze” pattern, with exquisite attention to detail; the color shading of the cracks varies throughout, giving the impression of varying degrees of depth. Hao, a Ferrari owner himself, has also added Chinese badging on the interior and exterior, adding a personal touch the the standard gauges and switches. This special-edition will be sold at a Gala on November 3rd, with the proceeds going to charity.

Rolls Royce has pulled the sheets off of the Ghost, which was known as the 200EX during its concept phase. The mini-Phantom looks undoubtedly like a Rolls, but as a smaller vehicle it has incorporated a lot of new, modern design features. The familiar grille is flanked by slimmed xenon headlights, which are further augmented with contrasting satin silver paint that extends past the hood and seems to wrap around the car’s a-pillars. The car has a sleeker profile than its big brother, and is almost two feet shorter; it is said to share approximately 20% of its underpinnings with the current BMW 7-series. Inside is typical Rolls paradise: veneered picnic tables, lambswool floormats, and massaging seats are just some of the goodies that set the Ghost apart from its competition. Techies will be happy to hear that Goodwood has packed its newest car with all the latest gadgets. Night vision, adaptive cruise control, and a bevy of cameras assist various parking and lane-changing situations. Power comes from an all-new 6.6-liter turbocharged V12, which will produce 563bhp and 575lb/ft of torque and mates to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The Ghost debuts this week at the Frankfurt auto show.

This vintage British bike sports one of the most unique engines ever to grace two wheels. Edward Turner’s idea for a four-cylinder ‘Monobloc’ was picked up by Ariel and debuted in the first aptly named Square Four in 1930. Here, in its fourth generation, and only a few years before its production ceased entirely, the motorcycle is mated to a matching Garrard sidecar that is packed to the hilt with champagne. The duo is seen featured among many other rare finds at the Peddle Beach Councours d’Elegance.

Once again, Maserati comes through in grand fashion. Just as we found out that we weren’t on the list for the Alfa Romeo Spider, Maserati has rescued the summer from complete ruin. A far cry from the Maserati Spyder that marked the Trident’s Stateside reemergence, this Pininfarina-styled droptop exudes elegance and power. Equally as appealing is the GC’s ability to seat four adults, something unheard of in any previous Maserati open-air vehicle and a tribute to its engineering. As the longest-wheelbase convertible on the market, the GranCabrio will (like everything else, it seems) debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show on September 15th (we’ll be there firsthand!). Look for the familiar 4.7 liter V8 to power the refined ragtop.
